Abstract (es)
Hace tiempo que en los análisis sobre la ciudad se repiten una y otra vez categorías que a fuerza de utilización se han vuelto costumbre en el vocabulario académico, tal es el caso de expresiones como ciudad-global, ciudad-informacional, ciudad-mundo, ciudad-red etc., cada una de las cuales hace referencia a formas de abordar el análisis de lo urbano y de esa realidad que implican a miles de millones de personas. El entusiasmo por el llamado espacio virtual, los impactos cada vez más contundentes de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones, así como la presión por seducir a un esquivo capital fluctuante son todos fenómenos que han hecho que en ocasiones las categorías sean abrazadas por estudiosos y académicos de manera casi que irreflexiva, sin cuidarse de constatar si tales construcciones
analíticas tienen correspondencia en la realidad empírica, o para decirlo de un modo más contundente, en nuestra realidad empírica.
