Abstract (es)
Abstract (en)
Here we develop a genealogical critique about the theatricalization of the victims’ memory in Vidas Robadas exhibition (2021), showed at Fragmentos Espacio de Arte y Memoria in Bogotá. We interpret recent Colombian reality through the figural and patriarchal concepts using as framework The Arnolfini portrait (1434) by the Flemish painter Jan Van Eyck (1390-1441) in relation to three poems by María Mercedes Carranza (Bogotá, 1945-2003): Aquí con la Señora Arnolfini, Métale cabeza y El Canto de las Moscas. From this figural basis we understand Mrs. Arnolfini as the aesthetics that governs contemporary, neoliberal, and globalized art, a sterile politics that commodifies memory. In this regard, we incorporate the concept of parody by Giorgio Agamben (1942- ) to understand the place of the arts in the desire for Paz Total. Finally, we warn about the re-victimization of victims of the Colombian armed conflict by subjecting them to aesthetic protocols foreign to their language.
