La película colombiana el Abrazo de la Serpiente, dirigida
por Ciro Guerra y producida por Cristina Gallego,
se consolidó en el 2016, como el sucedo cinematográfico
del año. La nominación a los Premios Óscar dio al film un
giro inesperado, que desde la fecha de su estreno en mayo
de 2015, había tenido el aplauso de la crítica internacional
y reconocimiento en prestigiosos Festivales de Cine,
pero había pasado desapercibida en las salas de cine en
Colombia. En esta entrevista, Cristina Gallego habla sobre
los aprendizajes de la película, el culto al mito Hollywood
y los retos de los cineastas para contar nuevas historias en
un contexto, donde la construcción de paz, ha pasado de
ser un asunto exclusivo del Estado y los actores armados
ilegales, para convertirse en un tarea que depende de la diversidad
y el respeto a la diferencia, entre diversos sectores
de la sociedad civil.
